Heartsaver CPR Course

Designed for the lay rescuer who requires a credential for course completion, the course covers emergency resuscitation techniques, prevention, and use of barrier devices.

The Heartsaver CPR course trains lay rescuers to recognize and treat life-threatening emergencies with adult, child and infant victims.

Qualified instructors use videos, printed materials, and demonstrations on mannequins representing infants, children, and adults to teach proper techniques for performing CPR.

All materials are taken from The American Heart Association's basic life support course. CPR lasts approximately 3-4 hours and takes place within one day session. The course covers adult, child, and infant CPR, choking, AED use and First Aid.  It also reviews warning signs of stroke, heart attack and other common medical emergencies.

Participants practice the techniques on mannequins and have opportunities to ask questions and get individualized instruction. The final test for the course requires demonstrating adequate CPR technique.

Participation is required for all individuals. If there are any persons attending the class that are handicapped or need special assistance, please inform the instructor prior to class as to accommodate these needs.
